OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) -Bears quarterback Brian Griese left Chicago’s game against the Oakland Raiders shortly before halftime Sunday with a shoulder injury.
Griese was hurt when Oakland linebacker Kirk Morrison sacked him late in the second quarter. Rex Grossman relieved his former backup – and promptly fumbled the first center exchange with Olin Kreutz.
Griese, who became Chicago’s starter in late September after Grossman’s prolonged struggles, was 10-of-14 for 97 yards against the Raiders. The Bears didn’t immediately announce whether Griese would return.
Griese, a 10-year NFL veteran who led Michigan to the 1997 national title, has thrown nine touchdown passes and 10 interceptions this season.
