FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) -The New England Patriots activated wide receiver Chad Jackson and cornerback Eddie Jackson from the physically unable to perform list Wednesday, and also released safety Ray Ventrone.
Chad Jackson was the team’s second-round pick in the 2006 draft out of Florida and had 13 receptions for 152 yards and three touchdowns as a rookie last season. He also had four rushes for 22 yards, three punt returns for 76 yards and a 21-yard kickoff return.
Eddie Jackson was signed as a free agent in March after spending the last two seasons with the Miami Dolphins. He was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the Carolina Panthers in 2004.
Both have been practicing with the team.
Ventrone has been on and off the Patriots and New York Jets since April 2005. He was signed to New England’s active roster last Saturday and made his NFL debut on Sunday in a 24-20 win over the Indianapolis Colts.
