BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) -Bills quarterback J.P. Losman will get the start Sunday when Buffalo hosts Cincinnati.
The team announced on Tuesday that Trent Edwards needs additional time to recover from a sprained right wrist. Bills coach Dick Jauron said in a statement that it’s unclear whether Edwards will practice at all this week. Edwards, a third-round draft pick last April, hurt his throwing hand in the third quarter of Buffalo’s 13-3 win at the New York Jets last weekend.
Losman took over with the game tied at 3 and produced two scoring drives, sealing the win with an 85-yard touchdown pass to Lee Evans. The Bills (3-4) have rebounded nicely since opening with three losses.
For Losman, the game against Cincinnati will mark his first start since he sprained his left knee during the first series of a 38-7 loss to New England in Week 3.
Edwards went 2-1 in starting the next three games and had been awarded the No. 1 job heading into last weekend.
