RENTON, Wash. (AP) -Matt Hasselbeck will miss his fourth consecutive game for the Seahawks on Sunday against Philadelphia because his hyperextended knee is still too weak.
Coach Mike Holmgren said Wednesday that backup quarterback Seneca Wallace will make his third consecutive start.
Holmgren said Hasselbeck’s status remains a week-to-week issue. This week, a back surgeon in Los Angeles said a bulging disk in Hasselbeck’s back is still weakening his knee. The three-time Pro Bowler will have to make at least a third trip to that surgeon for tests before he can return to the field.
Holmgren said wide receiver Deion Branch also will miss Sunday’s game because of a bruised heel. He has played in one game since January.
Pro Bowl defensive end Patrick Kerney is iffy after reinjuring his surgically repaired shoulder.
