ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) -Bills cornerback Ashton Youboty was having X-rays on his ankle after being escorted off the field in the first quarter against the New York Jets, adding to an elongated Bills injury list.
Youboty was hurt after absorbing a block by Jets offensive tackle D’Brickashaw Ferguson on a screen pass to Laveranues Coles. He limped off the field on his own, and was lightly jogging along the sideline before heading to the tunnel when the second quarter began. Jabari Greer replaced Youboty.
Youboty has started the past three games after cornerback Jason Webster broke his forearm in the opener against Denver. Webster was placed on injured reserve, ending his season.
Buffalo’s banged up defense is already missing Ko Simpson (ankle), Keith Ellison (ankle), Coy Wire (knee), rookie Paul Posluszny (broken forearm) and Ryan Denney (foot).
Simpson has been placed on IR.
Youboty was Buffalo’s third-round pick in 2006, and started one game his rookie year.
The Bills also lost backup linebacker Kevin Harrison for the game after he hurt his knee on the opening kickoff. Harrison was signed this week to help bolster Buffalo’s depth at linebacker after Posluszny was hurt last Sunday against New England.
