NFL stories for the weekend of Sept. 22-23:
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
FBN–BILLS-SUPER MARIO
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. – Mario Williams arrived at training camp vowing to play up to his “Superman” reputation and high-priced contract after an inconsistent first season in Buffalo. Two games in, the Bills’ $100-million defensive end is starting to deliver, while putting aside off-the-field distractions. Williams set a team record and personal best with 4 1/2 sacks in a 24-23 win over the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.

GAME OF THE WEEK
FBN–FALCONS-DOLPHINS
MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Cornerback Brent Grimes is listed at 5-10 and 190 pounds and looks smaller, but he appears to be a huge steal for the Miami Dolphins. Grimes has given their secondary a significant upgrade since signing as a free agent in March, and he faces his former team Sunday when unbeaten Miami plays its home opener against the Atlanta Falcons.

FBN–ON FOOTBALL-OOPS
NEW YORK – For all the prolific passing stats just two weeks into the season, something else about the aerial game leaps out. All those drops.

FBN–NFL THIS WEEK
Tampa Bay can’t close out games, losing twice already on last-second field goals. New England can’t seem to find the magic on offense, yet has pulled out two close victories.
When the Bucs visit the Patriots on Sunday, it will be a study in contrasts.
