MIAMI (AP) -Former Pro Bowl center Barret Robbins is facing extradition to Florida after a warrant was issued for a probation violation.
Florida authorities have not be able to locate the former Oakland Raiders lineman, Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office spokesman Ed Griffith said Friday.
Robbins was placed on probation in 2005 and ordered to continue treatment for bipolar disorder under a plea agreement resulting from a brawl with police.
Authorities in Florida learned Robbins had stopped treatment after he returned to his native Texas.
``We've been informed he violated conditions and based on that a warrant has been issued,'' Griffith said.
Miami Beach Police Department spokesman Bobby Hernandez said Friday that officers were given fliers warning them that Robbins had violated probation.
Robbins was shot three times and seriously wounded during the 2005 brawl with police who were answering a burglary call at a Miami Beach building. Three police officers were injured in the melee, including one whose head was rammed into a wall.
In 2003, Robbins disappeared from the Raiders in the days before the Super Bowl in San Diego and was deactivated for the game after showing up incoherent the night before.
Robbins regained his spot in the starting lineup the next season after undergoing treatment at an alcohol rehabilitation center. The Raiders released Robbins in 2004 after he tested positive for steroids.
A phone listing for Robbins or his attorney could not be located.
