PITTSBURGH (AP) – The Pittsburgh Steelers have just over two weeks to get ready for the season opener.
Suddenly, it doesn’t seem like nearly enough time.
The Steelers were pushed around in a 31-21 exhibition loss to Philadelphia on Thursday night. The starters on both offense and defense struggled while playing into the third quarter as the Eagles took a 24-0 lead.
Safety Troy Polamalu says his team ”has a lot of mistakes to correct” with one preseason game left next week against Carolina.
Running backs Le’Veon Bell and LeGarrette Blount combined for 55 yards rushing on 16 carries a day after being cited for marijuana possession by police. Coach Mike Tomlin said the incident had nothing to do with the team’s dismal performance.
