LOS ANGELES (AP) – Former NFL All-Pro safety Darren Sharper, who is facing sexual assault allegations in several states, is returning to court in California.
Sharper is scheduled to appear Wednesday in a Los Angeles court, where he’s charged with drugging and raping two women last year after meeting them at a West Hollywood nightclub.
The judge and attorneys will be setting a date for a preliminary hearing to determine whether Sharper should stand trial.
Another hearing is then scheduled on Sharper’s extradition to Arizona, where prosecutors are alleging he drugged and sexually assaulted three women.
He’s also been investigated for alleged sexual assaults in Louisiana, Nevada and Florida. He has denied the allegations.
The 38-year-old Sharper played for the Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings and New Orleans Saints in a 14-year career.
