LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) -The Chicago Bears signed linebacker Michael Okwo, a third-round draft choice, and guard Josh Beekman, a fourth-round pick, to four-year contracts Tuesday.
Okwo earned first-team All-Pac-10 honors twice in his career at Stanford and was his team’s MVP during his senior year.
Beekman was drafted out of Boston College, where he started all 37 games in his final three seasons and was the ACC’s most valuable blocker last season.
Okwo and Beekman bring to seven the number of Chicago’s signed draft choices. They join third-round pick Garrett Wolfe, fifth-round selections Kevin Payne and Corey Graham, and seventh-round picks Trumaine McBride and Aaron Brant.
The Bears’ only unsigned picks as of Tuesday were first-round choice Greg Olsen, a tight end from Miami, Fla., and second-round selection Dan Bazuin, defensive end from Central Michigan.
