INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -Marvin Harrison may be close to resolving his future with the Indianapolis Colts.
Colts owner Jim Irsay has called an afternoon news conference, presumably to discuss the star receiver.
Harrison’s agent, Tom Condon, told The Associated Press on Monday that Indianapolis had agreed to release the franchise’s career receiving leader. Condon said an announcement was expected Tuesday or Wednesday.
But Irsay then decided to make one last attempt to convince Harrison to stay for a 14th season with the team. Irsay told The Indianapolis Star late Monday that he had scheduled a mid-afternoon meeting with Harrison.
They were believed to have met Tuesday afternoon – before the news conference was scheduled.
A release from the team said Irsay would attend, but did not list Harrison as a participant.
