Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers at BetNow.eu, the Packers are favored at home in this game, as they are getting odds of -8 points against the Lions. The over/under total for the game is listed at 45.5 points. The public betting for this game currently has 72 percent going on the Packers at home.
Packers seek win streak to end season
Despite the lack of any playoff hopes, the Green Bay Packers picked up a 44-38 OT win over the Jets in New York last week to avoid going 0-8 on the road in 2018. The Packers are 6-8-1 overall, 5-1-1 at home, 6-8-1 against the spread and 8-7 with the over.
Green Bay is putting up 25.1 points and 382 yards per game on offense this season despite a lot of injuries throughout the year. Aaron Rodgers has thrown for 4,416 yards and 25 touchdowns with two interceptions. Davante Adams has added 111 receptions for 1,386 yards and 13 touchdowns. Defensively, the Packers are giving up 24.6 points and 351.2 yards per game. Blake Martinez has led the unit with 132 tackles and five sacks.
Lions look lifeless
The Detroit Lions are coming off a 27-9 loss at home to the Minnesota Vikings last week for their fourth loss in five games. They have scored 17 points or less in five straight. The Lions are 5-10 overall, 2-5 on the road, 8-7 against the spread and 9-6 with the under.
Detroit is really struggling to do much on offense, as the Lions average just 19.5 points and 322.3 yards per game this season. Their defense is giving up 24 points and 345.7 yards per contest. Matthew Stafford has thrown for 3,511 yards and 19 touchdowns with 11 interceptions. Kenny Golladay is his leading receiver with 70 receptions for 1,063 yards and five touchdowns. The Detroit defense has picked up 40 sacks this season. Jarrad Davis is leading the unit with 92 tackles and five sacks.
NFL Betting Trends
Green Bay
The Packers are just 1-6 against the spread in their last seven division games and 3-10-1 ATS in their last 14 conference games.
Detroit
The Lions are 5-2 against the spread in their last seven road games, but they have failed to cover in four straight division games.
Prediction:
Neither team has anything to gain by winning, but the Packers proved they were going to show some life by winning on the road last week in OT. The Lions just don’t have any offense to compete right now and their play calling isn’t showing them trying to really go for any surprises. I like the Packers to come out strong at home and for Rodgers to lead Green Bay to a comfortable win.
NFL Prediction: Green Bay Packers -8
