Indianapolis Colts Fantasy Spin

Colts RB Jordan Wilkins (ankle) has been ruled out for the team's Week 17 matchup against the Jaguars. Wilkins' absence means Jonathan Williams will likely work as the early-down complement to Marlon Mack, while Nyheim Hines should continue to see plenty of pass-game work in addition to his return duties. Wilkins averaged 5.6 yards per rush as a rookie and 6.0 in 2019: He's proven capable of making plays with the ball in his hands. Still, the Colts have been reluctant to give the 2018 fifth-round pick a featured role, even when Mack has been sidelined with an injury. He could be on the roster bubble for 2020.

Jacksonville Jaguars Fantasy Spin

Jaguars coach Doug Marrone has been informed that he'll be fired following Week 17's game with the Colts. PFT's Mike Florio and the Jaguars have denied the report. Marrone's three-plus seasons as Jacksonville's coach have been largely unsuccessful, posting a 21-28 record (.429 win percentage) going into Week 17. The Jaguars have been in steep decline since Marrone led them to the 2017 conference championship. Marrone is the definition of replacement-level with a draconian style that clashes with today's NFL. If Marrone is ultimately let go, the question becomes whether the Jaguars also fire GM Dave Caldwell.

The Colts are 0-4 against the spread in their last four meetings with the Jaguars in Jacksonville and are 1-7-1 against the number in their last nine games versus the Jags overall.

The home team is 3-0-1 against the spread in the last four meetings between these two teams overall.

NFL Week 17 Prediction

Even with the news that Marrone knows he’ll be fired, I still see value in the Jaguars catching over six points at home. They’ve won four straight meetings with the Colts at home and are 16-7-3 against the spread in their last 26 games after allowing more than 250 yards passing in their previous game. Meanwhile, the Colts are just 5-11-1 against the spread in their last 17 games after scoring more than 30 points in their previous game. After blowing out the Panthers last Sunday at home, I expect the Colts to do what they’ve done for most of the season: Show how inconsistent they are in 2019.
