Eagles vs. Redskins Total Prediction
The Philadelphia Eagles still have an outside chance of reaching the playoffs but they’ll need to beat the Washington Redskins on Sunday and get some help as well. Will the score of Sunday’s NFC East clash between the Eagles and Redskins fall under the betting total?

Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetNow.eu, the Eagles are 6.5-point favorites to beat the Redskins. The total, meanwhile, sits at 42 points. As of this writing, 72% of the public betting tickets are on the Eagles to cover the point spread.
Philadelphia Eagles
Eagles coach Doug Pederson said Nick Foles will start Week 17. Foles took a big hit late against the Texans, but he is fine. Carson Wentz (back) remains on the active roster, but the Eagles do not want to risk him despite the potential of a playoff berth. Foles throwing for 471 yards and four scores in a big win on Sunday likely made that decision a bit easier. He will be a back-end streaming option against Washington.
Washington Redskins
Colt McCoy (broken leg) will not return Week 17. McCoy fractured his fibula earlier this month, but he likely would have returned for Week 17 had Washington still been in the playoff hunt. That dream ended this week, however, and Josh Johnson will close out the season at quarterback. McCoy should be ready for the offseason program.
NFL Betting Trends
Philadelphia
The over is 14-6 in the Eagles’ last 20 divisional games and is 35-16 in their last 51 road games.
Washington
The under is 6-2 in the Redskins’ last eight games played in the month of December.
Prediction
For whatever reason, the Eagles click when Nick Foles is under center. Carson Wentz is still the more talented quarterback but when Foles plays, the offense hums because perhaps it’s simplified. Foles threw for 471 yards and four touchdowns in the Eagles’ win over the Texans and despite the Redskins being down to fourth-string quarterback Josh Johnson, they have played with confidence the past two weeks. I like the over.
