NFL Week 16 Opening Odds
While the undefeated Panthers are a sizable road favorite, the Patriots are just a slim road favorite versus a bitter rival. Here’s your Week 16 NFL opening odds report.
Patriots at Jets, 1:00PM ET
New England is knocking on the door of clinching homefield advantage throughout the postseason but New York is fighting for one of the two wild card spots and needs to keep winning with Kansas City and Pittsburgh also in the mix. According to oddsmakers from online sports book Mybookie.ag, the Pats opened as a 3-point road favorite for Sunday’s game in East Rutherford, which no doubt will attract plenty of New England backers given how low the number is. This matchup lost some of its luster with Rex Ryan being fired in the offseason, but the fan bases of these two teams still despise each other greatly.
Panthers at Falcons, 1:00PM ET
The only two teams standing in Carolina’s way of going 16-0 this season are Atlanta and Tampa Bay the next two weeks. And according to Mybookie.ag, the Panthers are a 7-point road favorite to beat the Falcons on Sunday. Carolina blew out Atlanta 38-0 two weeks ago in Charlotte and also handed the Falcons a 34-3 beating in Week 17 last season to win the NFC South and punch a ticket to the playoffs. Atlanta looked completely unmotivated in Charlotte, but will the Falcons (who ended a six-game losing streak with a 23-17 win over the Jaguars on Sunday) show up with their fait playoff hopes still alive?
Bengals at Broncos, 8:30PM ET
This matchup will have plenty of intriguing by time it kicks off on Monday night. The Bengals have clinched a playoff spot but still haven’t won the AFC North, while the Broncos are now just one game ahead of the Chiefs for first place in the AFC West. In fact, Denver still hasn’t even clinched a playoff spot and has lost back-to-back games the past two weeks. A.J. McCarron executed Hue Jackson’s game plan on Sunday in Santa Clara, earning a 24-14 victory in his first career start. He’ll once again be under center in place of Andy Dalton (thumb injury), although he’ll face a tougher challenge in Denver against the Broncos’ defense on Monday night. The Bengals are currently 3.5-point road dogs in Denver.
