Cincinnati Bengals Fantasy Spin
Andy Dalton completed 17-of-31 passes for 151 yards, one touchdown and four interceptions in the Bengals’ 34-13, Week 15 loss to the Patriots. Bring on Joe Burrow. That was Dalton’s message as he repeatedly challenged Stephon Gilmore and continually failed, once for a pick six. The ninth-year starter — literally how — now has 13 picks compared to just 11 touchdowns. His last multi-score day through the air came in Week 5. This painfully-long experiment will finally be ending in 2020. The Dolphins are on deck for Week 16 for those who dare in two-quarterback leagues or DFS.
Mami Dolphins Fantasy Spin
Ryan Fitzpatrick completed 23-of-41 passes for 279 yards and two touchdowns in the Dolphins’ Week 15 loss to the Giants. It’s not always pretty and it’s definitely not always effective, but Fitzpatrick is dropping back to pass a lot this season, which keeps him in the two-QB mix. Fitzpatrick has at least 33 pass attempts in nine straight games, averaging just over 260 yards with 1.5 touchdowns over that span. Fitzpatrick has some QB2 upside in his Week 16 matchup against the Bengals.
NFL Betting Trends
Cincinnati
The under is 8-1-1 in the Bengals’ last 10 road games and is 12-5-2 in their last 19 games overall.
Miami
The over is 4-1 in the Dolphins’ last five games overall and has cashed in four of their last five games as an underdog.
Prediction
This game will either be a 15-12 snoozefest or a 35-34 nail-bitter and one of the more entertaining games that nobody watches. Given the way both of these teams play defensively at times, I’m leaning towards an unexpected shootout. Neither team has anything to play for and while that could result in both squads going through the motions, it also means there’s zero expectations and players can play loose. Again though, the key here is that both squads have stunk defensively for most of the year, although the Bengals have started to show improvement on that side of the ball. Regardless, I’m taking the over.
