Rams vs. Seahawks Prediction
Will the Los Angeles Rams upset the Seattle Seahawks this afternoon in a pivotal NFC West matchup? Kickoff is set for 4:05 p.m. ET.
Who Oddsmakers Like: Seattle. According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Seahawks are 1.5-point home favorites to beat the Rams, who opened as a 1-point road underdog before the line moved ever so slightly. The total, meanwhile, is sitting at 47.5 points after hitting the board at 48.
Who the Public Likes: Seattle. As of Sunday morning, 57% of the betting tickets are on the Seahawks to cover the spread but 53% of the money is on the Rams.
Who the Trends Like: The under and the Seahawks. The under is 5-0 in the last five meetings between these two teams in Seattle and is 15-5-1 in the last 21 meetings overall. And while the underdog is 4-1 against the spread in the last five meetings, the home team has covered in seven of the last nine. The Rams are also just 2-8 against the spread in their last 10 trips to Seattle.
Who We Like: Los Angeles. The Seahawks should have Bobby Wagner (hamstring, questionable) back but K.J. Wright is expected to miss the game after suffering a concussion last week. If that hamstring winds up giving Wagner issues again, then Seattle’s defense is cooked. I fully expect Sean McVay to stick with Todd Gurley and the running game today after putting too much of the game in Jared Goff’s hands a week ago. McVay admitted that he needed to stay with the run longer but it’s not as if the Rams got blown out by the Eagles last week. It was great game until the very end.
The Rams are 4-1 against the spread in their last five road games, are 6-2 against the number in their last eight games overall, and are 4-1 at the betting window in their last five games coming off an ATS loss. The Seahawks, meanwhile, are 1-5-1 against the spread in their last seven home games versus a team with a winning road record.
