Chargers vs. Chiefs Prediction
Will the Los Angeles Chargers stay hot and take down the Kansas City Chiefs tonight at 8:25 p.m. ET in a pivotal AFC West matchup?
Who Oddsmakers Like: Kansas City. According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Chiefs are 1-point home underdogs versus the Chargers, who opened as a 1-point dog. The total, meanwhile, is sitting at 46.5 points after hitting the board at 46.
Who the Public Likes: As of Saturday morning, 53% of betting tickets is on the Chiefs while 55% of the money is also on Kansas City to either win or cover the spread.
Who the Trends Like: The road team is 5-0 against the spread in the last five meetings between these two teams while the Chargers have covered the number in their last five trips to Arrowhead. The under is also 5-2 in the last seven meetings between these two teams.
Who We Like: Los Angles. The Chargers are 4-1-1 against the spread in their last six road games, have covered the number in four of their last five games overall and are 5-1 at the betting window in their last six road games versus a team with a winning home record.
The Chiefs, meanwhile, are 1-4 against the spread in their last five games overall and are winless at 0-4 at the betting window in their last four games after accumulating more than 350 total yards in their previous game.
One underrated injury to note is Mitch Morse, who was placed on injured reserve this week by Kansas City. With their starting center out, I don't like the Chiefs to hold their own in the trenches against that nasty Chargers defensive line. Even though the Chiefs have homefield advantage and wise guys are on KC, I'll take the better team.
