Houston Texans Fantasy Spin
Will Fuller (hamstring) is questionable for the Texans’ Week 15 matchup against the Titans. Kenny Stills would slide into the slot if Fuller is ultimately able to suit up this week. Deshaun Watson has kept the offense’s TEs involved in the passing game all season, and he’s even fed Duke Johnson 14 combined targets over the past two weeks. It’s unlikely that either Stills or Fuller will see more than five-ish targets as long as they continue to be pigeon-holed as field-stretching WRs. Treat each as boom-or-bust WR3s in this plus spot.
Tennessee Titans Fantasy Spin
Derrick Henry (hamstring) is questionable for the Titans’ Week 15 matchup against the Texans. Both Henry and coach Mike Vrabel have already said he’ll start against the Texans. Henry is playing at less than 100% due to a nagging hamstring injury. He still posted a fine-enough 60% snap rate in Week 14. Continue to treat the PPR RB5 as a locked-in RB1. Dion Lewis is worthy of a bench spot with Henry hurting, as the Titans have proven to be willing to feed their pint-sized backup in the past with 15 touches in seven games last season.
NFL Betting Trends
Houston
The Texans are 5-2 against the spread in their last seven games as an underdog and are 6-1 against the number in their last seven games coming off a double-digit loss at home.
Tennessee
The Titans are a perfect 4-0 against the spread in their last four games and are a near-perfect 3-0-1 against the number in their last four contests at home.
Prediction
Watson is always a threat to extend plays and drives with his legs but I’m going to roll the dice and fade the dynamic QB. Without J.J. Watt, this Houston defense is rather pedestrian, and the unit will face one of the most confident quarterbacks in the league right now in Ryan Tannehill. The combination of Tannehill and Derrick Henry has given the Titans a punch in the arm and they’re now surging to either an AFC South crown or a wild card berth. If Watson has one of those games where he’s avoiding sacks, extending long drives and the Texans play keep-away all afternoon, so be it. But I’m going to back what I feel is the better overall team, which as of right now, is the Titans.
