Titans vs. Chiefs Pick
Can the Kansas City Chiefs stay atop the AFC West standings when they play host to the Tennessee Titans on Sunday at 1PM ET?
According to the oddsmakers at BetDSI, the Chiefs are favored at home in this game, as they are getting odds of -5.5 points against the Titans. The over/under total for the game is set at 42 points. The road team has won five of the last six in this series, covering the spread in the five wins as well.
The Chiefs have won three straight, including a 21-13 win over Oakland last Thursday, to move to 10-3 on the season and in first in the AFC West. The Chiefs are now 7-6 against the spread, covering in three straight as well. Despite allowing 386.5 yards per game right now, the defense is giving up just 19.6 points per game while forcing 25 turnovers. The unit lost a big piece last week, though, as Derrick Johnson suffered a season-ending Achilles injury. He leads the team with 90 tackles. Offensively, KC is averaging 23.2 points and 345.5 yards per game. The Chiefs have gotten a nice boost in recent weeks from Tyreek Hill. Hill is a dynamic receiver that now has 547 receiving yards with six touchdowns while also returning a kick and a punt for a score. Alex Smith continues to manage games, throwing for 2,831 yards and 12 touchdowns with five interceptions. Spencer Ware is the leading rusher with 790 yards and three scores.
Tennessee is coming off a 13-10 win over Denver at home last week to move to 7-6 on the season and remain tied with the Texans for first place in the AFC South. The Titans are just 5-8 against the spread this season and they have failed to cover in their last three on the road. Tennessee is averaging 24.7 points and 383.4 yards per game on offense this season. DeMarco Murray has been a big addition to the offense in 2016. He has run for 1,135 yards and nine touchdowns. Marcus Mariota has continued to improve throughout the year, throwing for 3,086 yards and 25 touchdowns while rushing for 348 yards. Defensively, the Titans are giving up 23.5 points and 378.8 yards per game. While strong against the run, the Titans are giving up 292.2 passing yards per game this season. The D is led by the combo of Brian Orakpo and Derrick Morgan, who have 19 sacks between them.

Andy Reid has his team making the plays to win right now and I like them at home against a Tennessee team that is still somewhat unproven. Smith should be able to use Hill to expose this Tennessee secondary and the Chiefs’ defense should be able to put on a strong pass rush against Mariota. The loss of Johnson will hurt, but not enough to keep the Chiefs from locking up Mariota, Murray and company.
