Jacksonville Jaguars Fantasy Spin

Gardner Minshew completed 24-of-37 passes for 162 yards, one touchdown and zero interceptions in the Jaguars' 45-10, Week 14 loss to the Chargers. Minshew added an additional 31 yards on six carries. He struggled to move the offense for most of the afternoon, although the team's lackluster run game didn’t help matters. Minshew appeared to perhaps check down a bit too often, as replays showed DJ Chark among others breaking free downfield on more than one occasion. Minshew led the offense to more than 20 points in four of his first eight starts, but the Jaguars have now gone five consecutive games without surpassing that threshold. It’s tough to fire him up as more than a mid-tier QB2 in Week 15 despite the prime matchup against the Raiders.

Oakland Raiders Fantasy Spin

Derek Carr completed 25-of-34 passes for 263 yards and two touchdowns in the Raiders' Week 14 loss to the Titans. The Raiders were rightfully booed while the final seconds ticked off in the Titans, 42-21, victory. Carr was largely ineffective, especially in the second half when the Raiders needed big plays to get back into the game. The Raiders were without Trent Brown, Josh Jacobs, and Hunter Renfrow, but there's no excuse to lose by three touchdowns to a team that was without multiple starting defenders. Carr is barely on the two-quarterback-league radar, even against a Jaguars team that's given up in recent weeks.

NFL Betting Trends

Jacksonville

The over is 4-1 in the Jaguars’ last five road games and has cashed in five of the last six times they were listed as an underdog.

Oakland

The over is 4-1 in the Raiders’ last five home games and is 11-4 in their last 15 games when they’re listed as a home favorite.

Prediction

Over their last four games, the Jaguars allowed 45 points to the Chargers, 28 points to the Bucs, 42 points to the Titans and 33 points to the Colts. In fact, the Jags haven’t surrendered fewer than 26 points in a game since October 27 when they held the Jets to only 15 points. Meanwhile, the Raiders allowed 42 points to the Titans last week, 40 points to the Chiefs two weeks ago and 34 points to the Jets on November 24. Given how poorly both defenses have played, it’s no wonder why the total has jumped nearly two full points off the opening number.
