Lions vs. Rams Free Pick
The Lions will take on a struggling, severely banged-up Rams team today at 1:00PM ET at the Edward Jones Dome.
The Lions opened as a 1-point road underdog for today’s game but according to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, Detroit is now a 3-point favorite versus St. Louis. After opening at 40.5 points, the over/under has been bet up to 41 points.
Early this week the Rams placed Robert Quinn and T.J. McDonald on season-ending injured reserve. Along with Aaron Donald, Quinn is one of the team’s best pass-rushers and McDonald is Gregg Williams’ starting strong safety. With Janoris Jenkins (concussion) unlikely to play and Trumaine Johnson trying to bounce back from a thigh injury, St. Louis is depleted defensively.
The Lions are coming off a heartbreaking loss to the Packers last Thursday but assuming they’re still motivated to pick up a few more wins before 2015 concludes, this matchup is heavily in their favor. Golden Tate has had big moments in the Edward Jones Dome as a member of the Seahawks and with him and Calvin Johnson facing a depleted Rams’ secondary, Matthew Stafford and Co. could have a big day. St. Louis has also been a disaster offensively this season, as the team ranks dead last or second-to-last in total yards per game, passing yards per game, and scoring.
