Bills vs. Eagles Free Pick
Non-conference foes will meet today in Philadelphia when the Eagles host the Bills at 1:00PM ET. Has the total for this game been set too high?
The over/under for today’s game has been set at 47 points according to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI. The number opened at 46.5 before climbing to 47, while the Eagles have gone from a 2-point home favorite down to -1.
The Eagles have gone over the total in three straight games but it’s not as if their offense gave the Patriots trouble last week. Philadelphia scored 35 points, but 21 of those points came directly from special teams and defensive scores. The Eagles gained just 248 yards of total offense and 15 first downs as players continue to struggle with consistency in Chip Kelly’s system.
The Bills rank fourth in the NFL in rushing yards per game while the Eagles are 27th in the league in run defense. The game plan for Rex Ryan and Buffalo is simple: Hammer LeSean McCoy at his former teammates and play good defense.
I think this total is inflated based on the expectation that Kelly’s offense will generate a lot of points. But Ryan’s defense should come to play today and you know McCoy will have plenty of opportunities to show Kelly what he’s missing after trading his former running back this offseason. A lot of McCoy should mean plenty of running clock.
