Public Betting Trends

According to oddsmakers from online sports book, the Steelers are 10-point favorites to beat the Raiders. The total, meanwhile, sits at 51.5 points. As of this writing, 51% of the public betting tickets are on the Steelers to cover the point spread.

Pittsburgh Steelers

Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said James Conner (ankle) will not play Week 14 against the Raiders. The Steelers initially believed Conner was only dealing with a contusion, but further tests revealed a sprain. There is some belief he is dealing with a high-ankle sprain, which would cause him to miss multiple games. Jaylen Samuels should take over as the starter with Stevan Ridley behind him on the depth chart. Samuels is now the top add for the week.

Oakland Raiders

Doug Martin rushed 18 times for 61 yards and a touchdown in the Raiders' Week 13 loss to the Chiefs, also losing a fumble. Martin was one of three Raiders running backs to lose a fumble on the afternoon. Were it not for all the giveaways, the Raiders might have actually managed to spring the stunning home upset. Now all the way back from his mysterious Week 11 usage, Martin has found the end zone in back-to-back games. He will offer floor as a Week 14 FLEX against the Steelers.

NFL Betting Trends

The under is 13-3 in the Steelers’ last 16 road games when facing a team with a losing home record.

The under is 6-1 in the Raiders’ last seven games after allowing more than 250 yards passing in their previous game.

The over looks like a solid play here with the Steelers likely having to put the ball in the air a lot with Conner on the shelf. They should have a ton of success too, as the Raiders have zero pass rush and allow big plays in chunks. On the other side, Oakland put up points on Kansas City a week ago as its offense looked more competent than in previous weeks.

NFL Week 14 Prediction: Steelers/Raiders over 51.5
