Texans vs. Packers Prediction
Will the Green Bay Packers build off last Monday’s win when they host the Houston Texans today at 1PM ET?
According to the oddsmakers at BetDSI, the Packers are favored at home in this game, as Green Bay is getting odds of -6 points against the Texans. The over/under total for the game has been set at 44.5 points. The road team has won all three meetings between these two while Houston has covered in two of the three meetings.
Green Bay is coming off a 27-13 win over the Eagles last week. That snapped a four-game losing streak to move the Packers to 5-6 on the year and 5-5-1 against the spread. The Packers are struggling on defense this season, as they are giving up 26.3 points and 369.3 yards per game. They are allowing 279.1 passing yards per game as well. The unit could be without their leader as Clay Matthews is listed as questionable with a shoulder injury. Despite the defensive struggles, the offense is putting up 24.9 points and 379.2 yards per game. Aaron Rodgers has thrown for 3,074 yards and 27 touchdowns with just seven interceptions. Davante Adams and Jordy Nelson each have over 700 yards receiving and the two have combined for 17 touchdowns. The run game is still an issue, as GB is putting up only 98.2 rushing yards per game.
Houston is coming off a 21-13 loss to the Chargers at home to fall to 6-5 on the season and 5-5-1 against the spread. Houston has really struggled on offense, posting just 17.6 points and 330.7 yards per game this season. Brock Osweiler has been disappointing, as he has thrown for 2,307 yards and 12 touchdowns with 13 interceptions. Lamar Miller is leading the offense with 881 rushing yards and three scores. Houston’s defense has been the strong point for the team this season. The Texans are giving up just 21.5 points and 328.4 yards per game. The unit is led by Benardrick McKinney, who has 101 tackles with four sacks. The defense has been without J.J. Watt for most of the season and will now be without Jadeveon Clowney today due to an elbow injury. Clowney has three sacks this year.

Green Bay may have found some type of team spark in Monday’s win over the Eagles. The defense played pretty well and Rodgers threw for over 300 yards against a good defense. The Packers should be able to get stops against Osweiler while Rodgers will continue his strong play, leading GB to a second straight win.
