Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetNow.eu, the Dolphins are 3.5-point favorites to beat the Bills. The total, meanwhile, sits at 40 points. As of this writing, 51% of the public betting tickets are on the Bills to cover the point spread.
Buffalo Bills
Josh Allen completed 8-of-19 passes for 160 yards and a touchdown and rushed 12 times for 100 yards and an additional score in the Bills’ Week 12 win over the Jaguars. Allen was far from perfect as a passer, but he hit Robert Foster for a 75-yard touchdown bomb and was dynamic on the ground, nearly scoring another touchdown late in the game during clock-killing mode. Allen’s week-to-week consistency has been all over the place in his rookie campaign, but he has certainly “flashed” when well protected and put in comfortable situations. Allen will be a two-quarterback-league starter in Week 13 at Miami.
Miami Dolphins
Kenyan Drake (shoulder) wasn’t listed on the Dolphins’ final injury report for Week 13 against the Bills. Drake aggravated a shoulder injury last week in a loss to Indianapolis, though obviously it wasn’t a major stumbling block. He was a limited participant at all three practices this week, prompting the Dolphins to remove him from the final injury report. Drake will again split carries with Frank Gore.
NFL Betting Trends
Buffalo
The Bills are 7-3 against the spread in their last 10 games against the Dolphins.
Miami
The favorite is 10-4 against the spread in the last 14 meetings between these two teams.
Prediction
The Bills showed a week ago that they haven’t given up on their season or head coach Sean McDermott. The Dolphins got back Ryan Tannehill a week ago and nearly pulled off the upset on the road versus the Colts as a 9-point road pup. That said, the Bills have a solid defense and should make Tannehill uncomfortable in the pocket. In what should be a defensive struggle, I’ll take the points in what could be a field goal game either way.
NFL Week 13 Prediction: Buffalo Bills +3.5
