Public Betting Trends

According to oddsmakers at BetNow.eu, the Packers are heavily favored at home, as they are getting odds of -14 points against the Cardinals. The over/under total is currently listed with 42.5 points. The public betting for this game currently has 58 percent going on the Packers at home.

Packers glad to be home

Green Bay fell to 0-6 on the road last week with a 24-17 loss at Minnesota. They have lost two straight and four of their last five games. Green Bay is now 4-6-1 on the season, 4-6-1 against the spread and 6-5 with the over. GB has hit the under in four of its last five games.

The Packers have been struggling on offense this year as they are putting up just 24 points per game despite posting 385.6 yards per contest. Aaron Rodgers has thrown for 3,271 yards and 20 touchdowns with just one interception. However, he has been sacked 34 times. Davante Adams is the leading receiver with 77 catches for 1,022 yards and 10 touchdowns. Aaron Jones is the leading rusher with 606 yards and six scores. The Green Bay defense is giving up 24.3 points and 355.2 yards per contest.

Cards struggling on offense

Arizona lost its third straight game last weekend, 45-10 on the road against the Los Angeles Chargers. Arizona is 2-9 overall, 5-5-1 against the spread and 6-5 with the under. The Cards have hit the over in two straight and four of their last six.

The Cardinals have the worst offense in the NFL by a wide margin. They rank dead last in the NFL in every major category, including points (14.1 ppg), total offense (232.5 ypg), passing yards (155.2 ypg) and rushing yards (77.3 ypg). Rookie QB Josh Rosen has thrown for 1,521 yards and 10 touchdowns, but has 11 interceptions. Christian Kirk is the team’s leading receiver with 40 catches for 536 yards and three touchdowns. David Johnson has rushed for 692 yards and six scores while catching 34 passes for 325 yards. Defensively, Arizona is giving up 26.6 points and 364.6 yards per game. Their run defense is 30th in the NFL, allowing 144.8 yards per game.

NFL Betting Trends

Green Bay

The Packers have hit the over in 13 of their last 16 against a team with a losing record and in seven of their last eight in December.

Arizona

Arizona has hit the under in 13 of its last 18 conference games, but has hit the over in 16 of its last 23 road games.

Prediction:

The Packers have been a very different team at home, especially on offense. They have went over 30 points in their last two at Lambeau and I would suspect Rodgers and company will be eager to work out some frustrations on this Arizona defense. From there, it’s up to Arizona to just manufacture some points. The Cards have scored at least 10 in their last nine and that alone could be enough for the over to hit in this one. I feel good about this being a high-scoring game because of Green Bay.

NFL Prediction: Cardinals/Packers Over 42.5
