Giants vs. Browns Prediction
Will the New York Giants steamroll the Cleveland Browns when the two meet up this afternoon at 1PM ET?
According to the oddsmakers at BetDSI, the Giants are favored on the road, as they are getting odds of -7 points against the Browns. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 44 points. The Giants have won and covered the spread in four of the last five in this series.
The Giants have won five straight coming into this week, including a 22-16 win over the Bears at home last week. The Giants are now 7-3 on the season and 5-4-1 against the spread, going 4-1 against the spread in their last five games. New York has been led by its defense, as the Giants are giving up just 20 points and 367.8 yards per game. The defense is led by Landon Collins, who has 80 tackles with five interceptions and three sacks. Offensively, New York is averaging 20.4 points and 347.8 yards per contest. New York ranks among the worst teams in the league on the ground, averaging just 77 yards per game. Still, Eli Manning has thrown for 2708 yards and 17 touchdowns with 10 interceptions. Odell Beckham Jr. has caught 59 passes for 819 yards and six scores.
Cleveland is coming off a 24-9 loss to the Steelers last week to fall to 0-11 on the season. The Browns are just 2-9 against the spread, failing to cover in five straight. The Browns are really struggling on offense, posting 10 points or less in their last three games. They are now averaging 16.7 points and 335.2 yards per game for the season. Cody Kessler suffered another concussion last week and will not play this week. Josh McCown filled in last week and has thrown for 778 yards this season. Isaiah Crowell has run for 561 yards and five touchdowns this season while Terrelle Pryor has caught 56 passes for 724 yards and four scores. Defensively, Cleveland is giving up 29.5 points and 419 yards per game.
The Browns just can’t seem to get on track for their first win. The continued injury issues at quarterback are clearly causing a lot of problems on offense. Today they face a defense that shouldn’t have much trouble stopping them. The Giants aren’t a dominant offense, but they should be able to get a comfortable lead early on the Browns.
