Chargers vs. Cowboys Prediction
Will the Dallas Cowboys end their two-game losing skid when they host the Los Angeles Chargers at Thanksgiving Day? Kickoff for the second game of the Turkey Day triple-header is set for 4:30 p.m. ET.
Who Oddsmakers Like: Chargers. According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Chargers are now 2-point road favorites to beat the Cowboys, who opened as 4-point favorites when the line was first released. The over/under currently sits at 47.5 points after hitting the board at the same number.
Who the Public Likes: Dallas. As of Thursday morning, 51% of tickets are on Dallas to cover the spread today.
Who the Trends Like: The over and the Chargers. In the last five meetings between these two teams, the over is 4-1 and the road team has covered four times.
Who We Like: Dallas. The Cowboys will once again be without linebacker Sean Lee (hamstring) and Ezekiel Elliott (suspension), but will get back left tackle Tyron Smith (groin), which is huge. If Smith was out, I'd side with the Chargers, who have two nasty pass-rushers in Joey Bosa and Melvin Ingram. But with Smith back, their offensive line is back in place and they should be able to move the ball more than they have the last two weeks when Dak Prescott was under siege.
Dallas is desperate and Los Angeles will have more of a challenge than it did a week ago when it picked off rookie Nathan Peterman five times in a blowout win over the Bills. The Chargers have failed to cover in 13 of their last 18 games coming off a win and are 7-18-1 against the spread in their last 26 games after scoring more than 30 points in their previous game.
