NEW ENGLAND: The Patriots took it to the Colts last Sunday in Foxboro, beating Indianapolis 59-24 as a 10-point favorite. Tom Brady completed 24-of-35 passes for 331 yards and three touchdowns, while Rob Gronkowski caught seven passes for 137 yards and two touchdowns. But the win, which was New England’s fourth in a row, came with a price. Gronkowski broke his forearm in the victory and will miss the next 4-6 weeks. For the Patriots’ sake, hopefully tight end Aaron Hernandez will return this week and ease the pain of losing “Gronk.” The win improved New England’s record to 7-3 and 6-4 against the spread, while the over is now 8-2 in the Pats’ first 10 games. In fact, after the combined score fell under the total in their first two games, the over has now hit in eight straight New England games.

NEW YORK: The Jets surprised the masses with a 27-13 win over the Rams last Sunday in St. Louis. The victory snapped a three-game losing streak for New York, which is now 4-6 on the year and 6-4 against the spread after covering as a 3.5-point underdog. Sam Bradford completed just 23-of-44 passes for 170 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. He also lost a fumble, which led to a Jets touchdown, and generally struggled against a New York defense that was minus Darrelle Revis. Mark Sanchez, meanwhile, complete 15-of-20 passes for 178 yards and a touchdown, while Shonn Greene and Bilal Powell rushed for over 100 yards combined, and two touchdowns (both by Powell). It was the first time in two games that the Jets covered the spread.

ODDS: According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Patriots are 7-point favorites over the Jets, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 48.5 points. New England is 7-3 overall and 3-2 on the road, while New York is 4-6 overall and 2-3 at home.

TRENDS: The over is 6-0-1 in the last seven meetings between these two teams and 5-2 in the last seven meetings between these two teams in New York. The Patriots, meanwhile, are 11-2 against the spread in their last 13 trips to New York and the road team is 20-8-1 ATS in the last 29 meetings between these two teams.
