Cardinals vs. Rams Pick
NFC West rivals square off this Sunday when the St. Louis Rams host the first place Arizona Cardinals at 1:00PM ET.
The Cardinals defeated the Seahawks 31-20 as an 8.5-point favorite in Week 10, while the combined score went over the posted total of 46.5. Kurt Warner threw for 340 yards with two touchdowns for Arizona, while Beanie Wells rushed for 85 yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries.
The Rams were beaten by the Saints 28-23 last Sunday, but covered as a 14-point underdog. Quarterback Marc Bulger threw for 298 yards with two touchdowns and an interception for St. Louis, while Donnie Avery hauled in four passes for 67 yards and two touchdowns.
Oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com have made the Cardinals 9-point road favorites over the Rams in Week 11. The over/under total for this game has been set at 47 points.
The trends favor the Cardinals in this matchup. Arizona is 5-0 against the spread in its last six games, 5-0 ATS in its last five games on the road and 4-1 in its last five games when playing St. Louis.
The Rams covered last week as double-digit underdogs and seem to be improving every week, but the Cardinals have been exceptional on the road this season and should roll. St. Louis is giving up almost 150 yards per game on the ground, which means Wells and Tim Hightower should have plenty of running room.
If the Cards can get Wells and Hightower rolling, that could open things up for Warner and the Cards’ passing game. St. Louis doesn’t have the secondary to contain receivers Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin.
Don’t be afraid to lay the points on a heavy road favorite – the Cards are a sound play this weekend. The trends favor them, they don’t have any major injuries to worry about and they’re opponent has played inconsistently this season.
We also like the over 46 in this game, as the total has covered in five of St. Louis’s last seven games when playing at home against Arizona.
Our NFL Week 11 Free Pick for this matchup is: ARIZONA CARDINALS and OVER 47.
