The Odds

According to oddsmakers from online sports book Mybookie.ag, the Patriots are 7.5-point road favorites versus the Giants while the total is sitting at 54 points after opening at 55.

The Records

New England is now 8-0 overall and 5-2 against the spread after covering the spread against Washington as a 14-point home favorite last week. New York, meanwhile, is 5-4 straight up and 5-3-1 against the spread following a win and a cover last weekend in Tampa.

The Pick

The Giants will have issues slowing down Tom Brady and Co. with a defense that is allowing the most yards per game in the NFL (422.6). But the Giants are also averaging 27.4 points per game, which ranks fifth in the NFL, and have enough weapons to move the ball against the 16th-best pass defense. Not that past performances are the best indicator of future results, but Tom Coughlin is 5-1 lifetime against Bill Belichick, which includes the two upsets in the Super Bowl over the past 10 years. Take the points with the home underdog.
