The Odds

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Steelers are now 4.5-point home favorites versus the Raiders after opening as a 5.5-point favorite. As for the total, it currently sits at 48 points.

The Records

Oakland enters play with a 4-3 record and is 4-3 against the spread, while Pittsburgh is 4-4 straight up and 5-2 at the betting window. The Raiders are coming off an outright win as a home underdog versus the Jets while the Steelers failed to cover as a slight favorite at home versus the Bengals last Sunday.

The Pick

Ben Roethlisberger looked rusty in his return from a knee injury last week in the Steelers' loss to the Bengals. It may take a few weeks for Big Ben to feel comfortable and in rhythm again with his receivers. The Steelers must also get used to life without star running back Le'Veon Bell, who suffered a season-ending injury last week in the loss to Cincinnati. While DeAngelo Williams is a quality backup, Bell was the backbone of Pittsburgh's offense. On the other side, Derek Carr and the Raiders' confidence continues to grow each week. They're 5-1 against the spread in their last six games versus the Steelers and should be able to keep this game within a field goal (if not win it outright).
