Packers vs. Chargers Total Prediction

Green Bay Packers vs. Los Angeles Chargers, 11/3/19 Predictions & Odds

The total for Sunday’s Week 9 matchup between the Packers and Chargers hit the board at 45.5 but has been bet all the way up to 50 at most sports books. Is this matchup a good spot to take the over or are bettors better off taking the under?

Game Snapshot

471 Green Bay Packers (-4) at 472 Los Angeles Chargers (+4); O/U 50

4:25 p.m. ET, Sunday, November 3, 2019

Dignity Health Sports Park, Carson, CA

Public Betting Odds

According to our NFL Public Betting Chart page, the Packers are drawing 72% of the betting tickets ahead of tonight’s game.

Green Bay Packers Fantasy Spin

Davante Adams (toe) is questionable for Sunday's matchup against the Chargers. Coach Matt LaFleur offered no updates, noting Adams is listed as questionable and a decision will be announced 90 minutes before the game. He's tentatively expected to suit up after practicing in a limited fashion all week. Adams has a tough matchup if active against stud shadow CB Casey Hayward, but Aaron Rodgers' No. 1 WR is an auto-start in fantasy formats of all shapes and sizes if active.

Los Angeles Chargers Fantasy Spin

Keenan Allen (hamstring) wasn't listed on the Chargers' final injury report. Allen played through a mid-week hamstring injury last Sunday, ultimately catching 7-of-10 targets for 53 yards. Meanwhile, Mike Williams failed to find the end zone yet again with a 3-69-0 performance. Note that both WRs let Philip Rivers down by dropping fairly easy potential touchdowns. The good news is that Allen has back-to-back games with double-digit targets after inexplicably receiving just 17 combined pass-game opportunities in Weeks 4-6. Packers CB Jaire Alexander spent plenty of time in the slot as a rookie, but hasn't moved inside for more than 10 snaps in a game in 2019 despite facing the likes of Tyreek Hill, Emmanuel Sanders and Adam Thielen. Fire up Allen as an upside WR2 that is due for a blowup performance.

Green Bay

The over is 11-1 in the Packers’ last 12 road games when facing an opponent with a losing home record.

Los Angeles

The under is 11-3-1 in the Chargers’ last 15 home games when facing an opponent with a winning road record.

NFL Week 9 Prediction

I don’t see how this one goes over the total given the issues that are currently plaguing the Chargers offensively. Philip Rivers and Co. have been held to 20 or fewer points in four consecutive games. Granted, the Packers had more problems with Matt Moore and the Chiefs last Sunday than expected, but they still have the edge against a Chargers offensive line that hasn’t been able to create anything in the running game. The under is 6-1 in the Chargers’ last seven games overall, is 5-1 in their last six home games and has cashed in five of the Packers’ last seven games after scoring more than 30 points in their previous game.

NFL WEEK 9 PREDICTION: PACKERS/CHARGERS UNDER 50
