Colts vs. Panthers Prediction
The Panthers will look to stay unbeaten when they host the Colts tonight on Monday Night Football at 8:30PM ET. Will Carolina also cover the spread?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Mybookie.ag, the Panthers are 5.5-point home favorites over the Colts while the total currently sits at 45.5 points. The line stayed steady throughout the week but early Monday afternoon the line dropped from 6.5 down to 5.5 and even 5 at some books. The total, meanwhile, opened at 45 before climbing to 46.5 and then down to 45.5.
Indianapolis enters play with a 3-4 record and is just 2-5 against the spread this year, while Carolina is a perfect 6-0 straight up and a profitable 5-1 at the betting window. The Colts are also 1-2 ATS on the road this season, while the Panthers are 2-1 ATS at home.
Indy is horrendous defensively, allowing 409 yards per game and 286 in the air. Carolina can control the clock with a running game led by Jonathan Stewart and Cam Newton, which ranks first in the NFL. The passing game should be solid, especially with Newton coming off a three-interception performance last week against Philadelphia on Sunday night. They still won the game and he'll play much better against a poor defense. On the other side, Andrew Luck is obviously not 100%. He's been banged up due to a bad O-line and holding the ball too long. But he will put up some points and they have to throw the ball against that tough run defense. He'll score some for the Colts and some for the Panthers due to turnovers.
