Falcons vs. Bucs Pick

NFL Week 9 Picks: Can Falcons keep up scoring pace vs. Bucs? 11/3/16

Will the over cash in yet another Falcons game when they visit the Bucs at 8:25PM ET on Thursday night this week?

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Bucs are now 3.5-point home underdogs versus the Falcons after opening as a 3-point dog. As for the total, the number hit the board at 51.5 and has been bet down to 51.

The Falcons rallied several different times to beat the Packers 33-32 at the Georgia Dome last Sunday. With that win, Atlanta is now 5-3 on the year but after the Falcons failed to cover as a 3-point home favorite, they're also 5-3 against the spread as well. The over has now hit in seven of the Falcons' eight games this season as they're averaging 32.8 points per game this season.

The Bucs came up short against the Raiders in overtime, falling 30-24 as a 1-point home favorite. That loss was Tampa's first in three games and dropped the team's record to 3-4 on the year. The Bucs have now failed to cover the spread in four of their seven games this season.

OUR PICK: I don't blame any bettor that wants to keep riding the hot hand and keep playing the over in Falcons games. After all, the over is 7-1 in Atlanta's games this season and the Falcons have the offense to keep racking up points. But the under is 4-1 in the last five meetings between these two teams in Tampa and for whatever reason, the Falcons have a difficult time with the Bucs, who have beat them three straight times since Jameis Winston was drafted with the first overall pick last year. The under is 6-1 in the Falcons' last seven games played on grass and is 12-5-1 in their last 18 road games.
