Browns at Bears Pick
Losers of two straight, the Chicago Bears look to get back on track this week when they host the Cleveland Browns at Solider Field on Sunday.
The Packers defeated the Browns 31-3 last Sunday in yet another dismal effort by Cleveland’s offense. Derek Anderson threw for only 99 yards with an interception, while Jamal Lewis rushed for 47 yards on five carries as the Browns failed to cover as 9-point underdogs.
The Bengals smacked the Bears last Sunday, 45-10 in Cincinnati. Jay Cutler threw for 251 yards with a touchdown and three interceptions for Chicago, while Devin Hester caught eight passes for 101 yards and a score. The Bears failed to cover as a 1-point favorite.
Oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com have made the Bears 14-point favorites over the Browns this Sunday. The over/under total for this game has been set at 40 points.
The Bears played so poorly last week that they probably shouldn’t be favored by 14 points over any team. Any team, except for the Browns, that is.
Chicago’s secondary has struggled this season, but Anderson has been absolutely brutal and can’t move Cleveland’s offense. The Browns have zero running game and can’t move the chains. In turn, their defense is spending too much time on the field and they’re getting worn down in the first half.
The Bears should roll this Sunday at home. They need a win to help ease the pain of the past two weeks and it should come against the Browns, who will once again have issues scoring. Assuming Cutler doesn’t turn the ball over multiple times like he’s done the past two weeks, Chicago should cover easily.
