Carolina Panthers Fantasy Spin

Panthers coach Ron Rivera said Kyle Allen will start in Week 8 against the 49ers. Cam Newton (foot) will "be with the trainers" and continue to rehab throughout the week. Rivera added that Cam "may or may not" return to practice this week, too. Allen's undefeated streak over Carolina's last four games has certainly made the decision to keep Newton sidelined easier as the former's kept his head above water with 901 yards, seven touchdowns and a 65.5 percent completion rate against the Cardinals, Texans, Jags and Bucs since Week 3. Undoubtedly set to face his toughest test to date in San Francisco's nightmarish pass rush, any stumbles on Sunday could result in Newton returning to practice sooner than expected. It would certainly help to have both Trai Turner (ankle) and Greg Little (concussion) back for Week 8.

San Francisco 49ers Fantasy Spin

Coach Kyle Shanahan said that Emmanuel Sanders is "going to play ... a lot." The 49ers boast the league's most run-heavy offense through seven weeks, but clearly made their decision to trade for Sanders under the idea that their WR group simply isn't good enough at the moment. Perhaps Sanders will prove to be the passing game's missing link and provide a spark to the unit. Still, it's going to require a super-human effort, as his stretch of opposing CBs up to fantasy championship week is unbelievably brutal. Overall, Sanders will face off against James Bradberry, Patrick Peterson (twice), Shaquill Griffin, Jaire Alexander, Marlon Humphrey, Marshon Lattimore, Desmond Trufant and Jalen Ramsey from Week 8 to Week 16.

NFL Betting Trends

The over is 12-3 in the Panthers’ last 15 games following an ATS win.

San Francisco

The under is 12-3 in the 49ers’ last 15 home games when facing an opponent with a winning road record.

The 49ers have an advantage with their rushing attack versus the Panthers’ run defense and with San Francisco likely to keep the ball on the ground, the clock should be moving constantly. For as good as Allen has played, the Niners have played suffocating defense against everyone. The under is a perfect 4-0 in the 49ers’ last four games overall, is 5-0 in their last five games in October and is 4-1 in their last five home games.

NFL Week 8 Prediction: Panthers/49ers UNDER 42
