Saints at Dolphins Pick
The New Orleans Saints look to continue their winning ways this Sunday when they travel to Land Shark Stadium to take on the Miami Dolphins.
The Saints absolutely rolled over the Giants in Week 6, crushing New York 48-27 in what was supposed to be a showdown of two of the best in the NFC. Quarterback Drew Brees threw for 369 yards and four touchdowns, while receiver Marques Colston hauled in eight passes for 166 yards and a TD in the win. With the victory, New Orleans covered as 3-point favorites.
The Dolphins had a bye last week but won in Week 5, beating the Jets 31-27 on Monday Night Football. Ronnie Brown scored on a 2-yard touchdown with six seconds remaining to lift Miami, which was a 3-point home dog.
Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com have made the Saints 7-point favorites over the Dolphins on Sunday. The over/under total for the game has been set at 48 points.
There are a couple of reasons to like the Dolphins in this matchup. They’re at home, they’re coming off the bye and they’ve won two straight after Chad Henne took over for the injured Chad Pennington at quarterback. They’re also getting points at home, which is often gold for bettors.
But when you take a closer look at this matchup, it favors New Orleans. Miami has struggled against quarterbacks that can get the ball out of their hands quickly and throw vertically. Matt Ryan, Peyton Manning and Philip Rivers all had success against the Dolphins earlier this year and Brees is no different. He strikes for big plays and can run a quick-tempo passing game.
We like the Saints in this matchup and although Miami’s Wildcat could give their defense issues, New Orleans should cruise for the most part. The Saints have been playing great defensively this season and will like for them to continue their success.
Our NFL Week 7 Free Pick for this matchup is: NEW ORLEANS SAINTS -7 and OVER 48.
