Saints vs. Bears Total Prediction
The playoff teams from a year ago will meet at Solider Field on Sunday when the Bears host the Saints at 4:25 p.m. ET. With the amount of injuries on New Orleans’ offense, will the under cash for bettors?
Game Snapshot
471 New Orleans Saints (+4) at 472 Chicago Bears (-4); O/U 37
4:25 p.m. ET, Sunday, October 20, 2019
Solider Field, Chicago, IL
Public Betting Trends
According to our NFL Football Public Betting Chart page, the Bears are receiving 64% of the betting tickets from online sportsbooks.
New Orleans Saints Fantasy Spin
Alvin Kamara (ankle) is out for Week 7 against the Bears. This was inevitable after missing Friday’s practice. The Saints will slide Latavius Murray into the starting lineup, and he’s a viable RB2 plug-and-play even in a tough matchup. Jared Cook will also be sidelined, so Michael Thomas is a near-lock for 10+ targets. Consider Kamara week to week with his high-ankle injury.
Chicago Bears Fantasy Spin
Coach Matt Nagy said Mitch Trubisky (shoulder) is “feeling good” and the team “likes where he’s at.” Trubisky is trending towards suiting up Sunday against the Saints. Still, only the Titans (5.5), Bears (5.2), Jets (4.4) and Dolphins (4.4) have averaged 5.5 or fewer net yards per pass attempt this season. Perhaps the bye week will produce a massive turnaround, but this Bears passing game hasn’t show the ability to get anyone other than Allen Robinson consistent fantasy production through six weeks.
NFL Betting Trends
New Orleans
The over is 8-2 in the Saints’ last 10 games after allowing less than 250 total yards in their previous game.
Chicago
The under is 7-1 in the Bears’ last eight games after allowing more than 350 total yards in their previous game.
Prediction
I don’t see how the Saints score many points against this Bears defense without Kamara, Drew Brees or Jared Cook. Granted, Teddy Bridgewater has played well the past two weeks and he still has Michael Thomas to throw to in the passing game, but it’s unlikely the Saints move the ball much on Chicago. The same can be said about the Bears, who will likely struggle against a Saints defense that has held opponents to only 40 points the past three weeks. The under is 4-0 in the last four meetings between these two teams.
