Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetNow.eu, the Rams are 9.5-point favorites to beat the 49ers. The total, meanwhile, sits at 52 points. As of this writing, 58% of the public betting tickets are on the Rams to cover the point spread.
Los Angeles Rams
Rams coach Sean McVay confirmed Cooper Kupp (knee) is out for Week 7 against the 49ers. Kupp’s knee injury looked much worse than it was, though he’s still dealing with an MCL sprain, which is usually a multi-week injury. The second-year slot man has played well this season but the Rams still have plenty of receiving weapons to surround Jared Goff including Todd Gurley, Robert Woods and Brandin Cooks. Consider Kupp week to week.
San Francisco 49ers
Coach Kyle Shanahan said Raheem Mostert over Alfred Morris “isn’t permanent.” Shanahan said it worked best against the Packers because Mostert was running well. Mostert showed more in his 12 carries against the Packers than Morris has through six weeks combined. The Niners hung with Green Bay all night and had a real chance to win. They’d be wise to keep rolling with a Matt Breida-Mostert one-two punch. Morris is a total drag on the offense.
NFL Betting Trends
Los Angeles
The over is 9-1 in the Rams’ last 10 games after allowing less than 90 yards rushing in their previous game.
San Francisco
The over is 6-1 in the 49ers’ last seven games after allowing more than 250 yards passing in their previous game.
Prediction
The over is 9-3 in the Rams’ last 11 road games, is 6-2 in their last eight conference games, and is 4-1 in their last five divisional matchups. On the other side, the over is 5-0 in the 49ers’ last five games overall, is 4-0 in their last four home games and is 4-1 in their last five conference tilts. We already know the Rams can score at will against most opponents, while the 49ers showed Monday night in Green Bay that they too can move the football thanks to Kyle Shanahan’s system. Thus, the only play here is the over.
