According to oddsmakers from online sports book Mybookie.ag, the Jaguars are 2.5-point home favorites versus the Texans while the over/under currently sits at 43.5 points. Houston enters play with a 1-4 record and is 1-4 against the spread, while Jacksonville is 1-4 straight up and 2-3 at the betting window.

Nobody in their right mind would view Brian Hoyer as some sort of savior but after the way Ryan Mallett played last Thursday night, Hoyer should be a breath of fresh air. At least he has shown signs of being able to move the ball and has a 5:2 touchdown-to-interception ratio through three appearances (one start).

The road team is 6-1-1 against the spread in the last eight meetings between these two teams while the underdog is 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings. Look for Hoyer to move the ball against a porous Jacksonville defense that allowed 369 total yards to Jameis Winston and the Bucs last Sunday in Tampa.
