Patriots vs. Jets Prediction

NFL Week 6 Predictions: Will Patriots cover large spread vs. Jets? 10/15/17

Will the Patriots struggle to cover the spread as a large road favorite today versus the Jets or will New England cruise?

The Odds: According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Patriots are 9.5-point road favorites versus the Jets, who also opened with 9.5 odds as an underdog. As for the total, the number hit the board at 47 but has been bet up slightly to 47.5 at the majority of online sports books.

New England Patriots: The Patriots are 10-1 against the spread in their last 11 road games, are 10-3 against the number in their last 13 games versus conference opponents, and are 19-7 at the betting window in their last 26 games overall. They’re also a perfect 6-0 against the spread in their last six road games versus a team with a winning home record. As of this writing, over 70% of public bettors are backing the Patriots at the betting window.

New York Jets: The Jets are 6-1-1 against the spread in their last eight games versus the Patriots and are 4-0 against the number in their last four home games versus New England. The home team is also 4-0-1 at the betting window in the last five meetings between these two teams and the underdog is 6-1-1 against the spread in their last eight games.

WHO COVERS: The Jets are somehow 3-2 and have given the Patriots problems in the past. That said, it’s time for Gang Green to turn back into a pumpkin and for the Pats to boat race an opponent. New England is coming off a few extra days of rest after playing on Thursday night last week and might have ironed out some of its defensive issues in its win over the Bucs. The Jets have been much better than anyone would have expected, but Tom Brady and Co. should light up Todd Bowles’ defense.
