Jets vs. Colts Spread Prediction

New York Jets vs. Indianapolis Colts, 10/14/18 Predictions & Odds

The New York Jets are coming off an impressive win over the Broncos in Week 5 but could they stumble as a small home favorite versus the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday?

Game Snapshot

259 Indianapolis Colts at 260 New York Jets

MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, New Jersey

Public Betting Trends

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetNow.eu, the Jets are 2.5-point favorites to beat the Colts. The total, meanwhile, sits at 47.5 points. As of this writing, 51% of the public betting tickets are on the Jets to cover the point spread.

Indianapolis Colts

Colts LT Anthony Castonzo (hamstring) will play in Week 6 against the Jets. It'll be his first start of the season. Castonzo was active last week but didn't play any snaps. His return is a huge upgrade to Andrew Luck's pass protection.

New York Jets

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Isaiah Crowell (ankle) is expected to play Week 6 against the Colts. ESPN's Rich Cimini reported the same on Friday. Crowell's only practice of the week was a limited session on Friday, but he is healthy enough to go in a good spot against the Colts. Coming off a breakout performance, Crowell is an upside RB2 this week.

NFL Betting Trends

Indianapolis

The Colts are just 2-7 against the spread in their last nine games against AFC opponents.

New York

The Jets are 9-2 against the number in their last 11 home games.

Prediction

The Jets were impressive a week ago against the Broncos but I think that game set up an opportunity to fade New York here. The Broncos were coming off a crushing loss to division rival Kansas City on Monday night, then had to fly cross-country to take on the Jets, who were clearly ready for them. The Colts, meanwhile, are off extra rest having played in New England last week and I see them pulling off the small upset here.

NFL Week 6 Prediction: Indianapolis Colts +2.5
