Cardinals vs. Lions Free Pick
The Arizona Cardinals will look to rebound from their first loss of the season when they visit the last remaining winless team in the NFL, the Detroit Lions.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Cardinals are 3-point road favorites versus the Lions for today's 4:05PM ET kickoff, while the total currently sits at 46 points. Arizona enters play with a 3-1 record and is 3-1 against the spread, while Detroit is 0-4 straight up and 1-3 at the betting window.
The Lions nearly pulled off a huge upset in Seattle on Monday night when they had the ball inside the red zone and needing only a touchdown to beat the Seahawks as a 10-point dog. But Kam Chancellor punched the ball out of receiver Calvin Johnson's hands on the way into the end zone and following a controversial call, Detroit was handed its fourth consecutive loss to start the season.
The Lions' defense played extremely well against the Marshawn Lynch-less Seahawks, but their offense did nothing for three-and-a-half quarters. Matthew Stafford is healthy but hasn't strung four quarters together all season and now the Lions will play a ticked-off Arizona team coming off short rest.
Speaking of the Cardinals, they played sloppy last Sunday at home in their 24-22 loss to the Rams as a 7.5-point favorite. Thanks to Bruce Arians, this is a well-coached team that will be focused and could also get back Andre Ellington (PCL injury), whom Arians said could have played last week. The Lions are allowing 111.5 rushing yards per game so while their defense played inspired on Monday night, they could have issues today.
