NFL Week 5 Regular Season
New York Jets DFS Spin
Zach Wilson completed 21-of-34 yards for 297 yards, two touchdowns, and a pick in the Jets' Week 4 win over the Titans. It was easily Wilson's best day as a pro. The interception wasn't even totally his fault, as Corey Davis fell on his route. Uncoincidentally, it was also the Jets' first win of the season. Wilson isn't on the fantasy radar, but his play is key in allowing New York's weapons to return value. He is a low-end streaming option at best in Week 5, even against a woeful Falcons secondary.
Atlanta Falcons DFS Spin
The Falcons have announced Calvin Ridley is out for Week 5 with a personal issue. Russell Gage (ankle) has also been declared out for the Falcons' trip to London to take on the Jets, leaving the Falcons hopelessly undermanned in their receiver corps. The nature of Ridley's issue is unclear, but the Falcons are on bye in Week 6, so he will presumably be back with the team by Week 7. In Ridley and Gage's absence, Olamide Zaccheaus will be the Falcons' "No. 1 receiver," with Tajae Sharpe and Christian Blake mixing in behind. It places enormous pressure on Kyle Pitts and Cordarrelle Patterson to make big plays, and also shores up Mike Davis' floor as Patterson continues to erode it.
Jets vs. Falcons Betting Prediction
The Jets are just 2-7 against the spread in their last nine games when facing an opponent with a losing record, are 1-4 against the number in their last five games overall and are 1-4 ATS in their last five games as an underdog. On the other side, the Falcons are 8-3 against the spread in their last 11 games versus an opponent with a losing record and are 12-5 against the number in their last 17 games after allowing more than 350 total yards in their previous contest.
