Browns vs. Ravens Spread Prediction

Cleveland Browns vs. Baltimore Ravens, 10/7/18 Week 5 Predictions

The Baltimore Ravens are off to an excellent start but find themselves as only a 3-point road favorite Sunday versus the Cleveland Browns. Will they cover the spread?

Game Snapshot

Public Betting Trends

According to oddsmakers from online sports book, the Ravens are 3-point favorites to beat the Browns. The total, meanwhile, sits at 45.5 points. As of this writing, 65% of the public betting tickets are on the Ravens to cover the point spread.

Baltimore Ravens

Alex Collins (knee) wasn't listed on the Ravens' final injury report for Week 5 against the Browns. A knee injury kept Collins from practicing on Thursday but he was back to full participation on Friday. Collins has scored a touchdown in three of four games this season, though he's also lost a pair of fumbles including one on the goal line last week at Pittsburgh. He'll be in the RB2 mix Sunday versus Cleveland.

Cleveland Browns

Jarvis Landry (knee) is not listed on the final Week 5 injury report and will play against the Ravens. Antonio Callaway (knee) was also taken off the injury report. Both are good to go for a tough home matchup against the Ravens. Landry will be a borderline WR1/2 who obviously gets a bigger boost in PPR leagues.

NFL Betting Trends

The Ravens are 4-1-1 against the spread in their last six road games and are 13-4 against the number in their last 17 games versus AFC North rivals.

The Browns are 6-17 against the spread in their last 23 home games and are 1-6 ATS in their last seven games played in October.

The Ravens have owned this matchup, covering the spread in five of their last five games against the Browns and are 3-0-1 ATS in their last four games played in Cleveland. The road team is also 12-4-1 at the betting window in the last 17 meetings between these two teams. This could be a trap only laying a field goal, but I’ll roll the dice. The Browns played cross-country last week in Oakland, went to overtime, then traveled back to the Midwest. I expect their defense to wear down in the second half.
