Jets vs. Steelers Pick
Is the over a good play for when the Pittsburgh Steelers host the New York Jets this Sunday at 1PM ET?
According to the oddsmakers at BetDSI, the Steelers are favored at home, as they are getting odds of -7.5 points against the Jets. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 48 points. The Steelers have won three of their last four meetings with the Jets. They have also hit the under in three straight meetings.
Pittsburgh is coming off a 43-14 win over the Chiefs to improve to 3-1 on the season. The Steelers are now 2-2 with the over/under total. Pittsburgh is now averaging 27 points and 391.3 yards per game on offense. The return of Le’Veon Bell seemed to help them last week, as they put up 436 yards on the Chiefs. Ben Roethlisberger has thrown for 1,116 yards and 11 touchdowns with four interceptions. Antonio Brown has added 28 receptions for 369 yards and four scores. Defensively, Pittsburgh is giving up just 20 points per game, but they are allowing 399 yards per game, including 320.8 passing yards per contest.
The Jets are coming off a 27-17 loss to the Seahawks at home last week to the Seahawks. New York is just 1-3 on the season now and 3-1 with the over. New York is averaging just 19.8 points and 365.5 yards per game on offense. Ryan Fitzpatrick is struggling right now. He has 1,012 yards passing with four touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He could also be without Eric Decker, who is doubtful with a shoulder injury. The defense has been struggling lately as well, especially against the pass. New York is giving up 26.3 points and 304.8 passing yards per game right now. The team does have 11 sacks, however, and has been good against the run.

Pittsburgh looked more like its usual self last week after struggling against the Eagles the week prior. Normally you’d expect the Jets defense to be a tough team to move the ball against, but they are struggling this year, especially against the pass. That’s not good against Pittsburgh, which has a diverse passing attack with Bell back in the mix. Pittsburgh is likely to give up some big plays on defense as well, which leads me to think a pick of the over is the way to go on Sunday.
