NFL Week 5 Las Vegas Odds

2011 nfl week 5 point spreads over under totals las vegas odds

(The Spread) – The Las Vegas odds are out for Week 5 in the NFL. Check out the lines for the Bears-Lions MNF game, and the Packers-Falcons Sunday night tilt.

One of the biggest line differences between the offshore book makers and the Vegas oddsmakers this week is in the Packers-Falcons Sunday night game. The offshore books set the opening line at Green Bay –4 but in Vegas, the Packers are already up to –5.5. With the way Aaron Rodgers and Co. destroyed the Falcons in last year’s playoffs, don’t be surprised if that line continues to go up throughout the week.

In the Monday Night Football game between the undefeated Lions and their NFC North counterparts the Bears, the line is Detroit –6 both in Vegas and online. It’s hard to see where this point spread could go, as bookmakers should see action on both sides. The public has been a strong backer of the Lions so far this season because they’ve covered in every game but one (at Minnesota in Week 3). But the fact that Chicago is getting 6 points in a divisional game will certainly attract some bettors to the Bears.

After opening at Giants –10, the point spread in the New York-Seattle game is down to 9.5 in Vegas. This is obviously important because it drops the line off the key number of 10. The same thing can be said for the Eagles-Bills game, as Philadelphia opened as a 3-point favorite but the line is now 2.5 in Vegas. The Cardinals-Vikings spread is also down a half point from Minnesota –3 to Arizona +2.5.

Finally, one other game of note to keep an eye on this week is the Jets-Patriots tilt in New England. New York has dropped two straight in rather ugly fashion and opened as a 9.5-point underdog. That said, Las Vegas Hilton bookmakers have set the line at 9 so it’ll be interesting to see if it eventually climbs to the key number of 10.
