Bears vs. Raiders Total Prediction
The first London game will feature the Bears and the Raiders on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. ET. Given the struggles of Chicago’s offense but its elite play defensively, will the under cash for bettors?
453 Chicago Bears (-5.5) at 454 Oakland Raiders (+5.5); O/U 40.5
1:00 p.m. ET, Sunday, October 6, 2019
Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Tottenham
Public Betting Trends
According to our NFL Football Public Betting Chart page, the Bears are receiving 58% of the betting tickets from online sportsbooks.
Chicago Bears Fantasy Spin
Roquan Smith (personal) was at the Bears' facilities on Tuesday. This doesn't necessarily mean he'll play against the Raiders this weekend, but it does mean he's at least in communication with the team. There hasn't been a public explanation why Smith didn't play in Week 4 except that the Bears are "working through" his status. It's best to view Smith as questionable for this week and beyond.
Oakland Raiders Fantasy Spin
Josh Jacobs (elbow) was limited in Wednesday's practice. He should be fine for Sunday's Week 5 London date with the Bears. Jacobs is more of a borderline RB2/3 in this tough spot due to his lack of pass-game involvement when the Raiders fall behind in games.
NFL Betting Trends
The under is 8-0 in the Bears’ last eight games after allowing less than 90 yards rushing in their previous contest.
The under is 6-1-1 in the Raiders’ last eight games after allowing more than 250 yards passing in their previous game.
The under is a near-perfect 8-1 in the Bears’ last nine games overall and is 7-3 in their last 10 games played in September. The under is also 5-2-1 in the Raider’s last eight games overall, is 9-3 in their last 12 games versus an opponent with a winning record and is 7-1-1 in their last nine games coming off a win. Given how dominant the Bears have been defensively and how poor their offense has played, there’s no other rout than the under here.
NFL Week 5 Prediction: Bears/Raiders UNDER 40.5
